Graeae

The Graeae ("old women" or "gray ones"), were Greek mythological sisters, the daughters of Phorcys and Ceto and thus members of the Phorcydes. They took the form of grey-haired old women from the moment of their births. Their names were Deino, Enyo and Pemphredo. They were also unusual in only having one eye and one tooth between them and being born with gray hair. These were shared and the sisters took turns in using them. Perseus forced them to tell the whereabouts of their sisters, the Gorgons, by stealing their eye while they were passing it between them and ransoming it for the information.

Alternatives: Graii, Graiae

Graeae is also the name of an influential British theatre company run by disabled actors.
