Glen or Glenda

Glen or Glenda or I Lived 2 Lives is a movie filmed in 1953, starring its director Ed Wood, Bela Lugosi, and Wood's then girlfriend Dolores Fuller.

The movie, a fictional documentary approach to transvestism, was semi-autobiographical in nature; Wood himself was a transvestite, and fans of this movie state that Wood filmed it as a plea for tolerance. The story goes that around the time the movie was made, the world's first successful sex change operation was performed, and a Hollywood producer wanted a movie to exploit the headlines. Ed took the job, took the money, and instead produced a movie about transvestites.

While the film was earnest, there was no denying its ineptitude. Leonard Maltin[?]'s best-selling Movie and Video Guide names this film as "possibly the worst movie ever made." Moviegoers familiar with Wood's movies cite this movie as being even worse than his more famous Plan 9 from Outer Space -- and this makes it a must-see for afficianadoes of bad movies.
