Gabor Szego

Gábor Szegö, Hungarian mathematician, born: January 20, 1895, Kunhegyes[?], Hungary, died: August 7, 1985, Palo Alto, California, USA. His most important work was with problems, Toeplitz matrices and orthogonal polynomials. He was a commencing teacher to János von Neumann. His book Orthogonal polynomials published in 1939 is a classic within its field and today still widely used as a reference in polynomial theory.
