Short for 'Former Soviet Union', that is, the following countries:
- Russia
- Estonia
- Latvia
- Lithuania
- Belarus
- Ukraine
- Moldova
- Georgia
- Armenia
- Azerbaijan
- Kazakhstan
- Kyrgyzstan
- Uzbekistan
- Turkmenistan
- Tajikistan
These countries (except Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) now form CIS, the Commonwealth of Independent States.
