Friedrich Wilhelm I of Brandenburg

Friedrich Wilhelm of Brandenburg or Frederick William (February 16, 1620 - April 29, 1688) was elector of Brandenburg. He is usually called the "Great Elector" (in German: Großer Kurfürst).

He was born in Berlin. His father was the elector George William, and his mother was Princess Elisabeth Charlotte von der Pfalz, Herzogin von Bayern, Pfalzgräfin am Rhein.

He was the father of Friedrich I, "the Great".
