Free art is an abbreviated[?] term for art produced within the philosophy of a "communist ethic" as outlined by Justin Weaver in his article, "Toward a Communist Ethic of Music Making". Specifically: "free art" refers to any art that is distributed to the widest possible public at no direct cost.
