Father Frederick C. Copleston, (1907 - 1994) was a Jesuit priest and:

Author of an influential nine-volume "History of Philosophy"
Took part in a 1948 BBC Radio debate with Bertrand Russell on the existence of God
Also took part in another famous debate, this one with A. J. Ayer on logical positivism and the meaningfulness of religious language[?]
