Fredegar Bolger

Fredegar "Fatty" Bolger, a Hobbit in J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy novel The Lord of the Rings, knew that Frodo had the Ring. He stayed behind in an attempt to keep up appearances while Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin braved the dark forest east of the Brandywine on their way to Rivendell. He was frightened half out of his wits by the arrival of the Nazgûl but escaped unharmed.

During Saruman's rule of the Shire he was imprisoned and starved, so that after his release nobody could call him Fatty any more.
