Meriadoc Brandybuck

Meriadoc Brandybuck, usually referred to as Merry, is a fictional character from J. R. R. Tolkien's universe of Middle-earth, featured as a central character throughout Tolkien's most famous work, The Lord of the Rings. Merry is a Hobbit, and one of Frodo's best friends. With his people skills, he really knows how to get around.

One of Merry's best friends is Pippin, another Hobbit who joins the quest to destroy the One Ring. Merry is the Fellowship of the Ring's best connection to the outside world.

Because of his bravery, he earns the respect and squireship of King Théoden.
