Fishbone

Fishbone was a late 1980s and 1990s funk metal band. They formed in 1979 (1979 in music) by Angelo Moore[?], Kendall Jones[?], John Norwood Fisher[?], Fish[?], Charlie Down[?], Walter Kibby II[?] and Chris Dowd[?]. Their debut LP was In Your Face[?] (1985 in music), which made waves in the underground community.

1988's Truth and Soul[?] was more successful commercially, and established the band as a popular cult group and touring attraction. It was three years, however, before the band returned with the full-length The Reality of My Surroundings[?] in 1991 (1991 in music). With the burgeoning popularity of alternative rock, Fishbone was suddenly popular on the fringes of the mainstream and The Reality of My Surroundings was a success. Give a Monkey a Brain[?], He'll Swear He's the Center of the Universe[?] and Chim Chim's Bad Ass Revenge[?] were all successful only within the band's fanbase, and they were unable to break into the mainstream. Their latest album is Live at the Temple Bar and More[?] in 2002 (2002 in music).
