Fielding L. Wright

Fielding Lewis Wright (May 16, 1895 - May 4, 1956) was a Mississippi politican who served as lieutenant governor (1944-1946) and became governor after the death of Thomas L. Bailey[?]. He was elected in his own right in 1947 and served a full 4 year term as a Democrat. In 1948, Wright was the vice-presidential candidate for the States Rights Party ("Dixiecrats") with South Carolina's Strom Thurmond running as the party's candidate for the presidency of the United States.
