Festivals in Taiwan

There are many unique festivals in Taiwan. Here is an introduction to some of the main ones.

January 1: "Kaiguo jinian ri"

Febrary 12: "Chunjie"

All members of the family gather to celebrate the new year.

February 28: "Heping jinian ri"

Peace Memorial Day.

May 5: "Duanwujie" (the Dragon Boat Festival)

It is one of the bigrest festival in Taiwan. On this day, many places hold a "Dragon race."

September 28: "Jiaoshi Jie"

The day celebrates Confucius' birth.

October 10 "Shuangshi jie"

Commemorates the Chinese revolution[?] of 1911.

November 25 "Guangfu jie"

The day Taiwan returned to China from the rule of Japan in 1945.
