Executive producer

In film and television production, the role of executive producer is difficult to define clearly. Executive producers vary in involvement, responsibility, and power from simply being famous names placed on a project to help gain approval through hands-on control of every aspect of production. In television, the latter type is also called the show runner[?], frequently the initiator of the project and often a writer.
