Evergem is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Ertvelde[?], Evergem proper, Kluizen[?] and Sleidinge[?]. On January 1st, 2000 Evergem had a total population of 31,155 (15,360 males and 15,795 females). The total area is 74.75 km² which gives a population density of 416.79 inhabitants per km².
