Esoteric knowledge

Esoteric knowledge is knowledge which is believed to be true but not generally known or accepted. Such knowledge is generally not acceptable for inclusion in a Wikipedia article as objective fact, since its truth is by definition controversial.

Often, esoteric knowledge is not generally accepted in large part because it is deliberately kept secret from those outside a select group. Such knowledge is confined within certain disciplines, such as magic and freemasonry.
