Equus

Equus is a play by Peter Shaffer which tells the story of a psychiatrist who attempts to treat a young man who has a horrible fascination with horses.

The play was made into a 1977 film which stars Richard Burton, Peter Firth[?], Colin Blakely[?], Joan Plowright[?] and Jenny Agutter[?].

The movie was adapted by Shaffer, and directed by Sidney Lumet[?].

It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Richard Burton), Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Peter Firth) and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium.
