Emetic

An emetic is a substance that, when eaten or drunk, induces vomiting. An example is Ipecac Syrup[?].

It is used medically where something has been ingested that must be expelled from the body immediately, for example certain poisons. Inducing vomiting can remove the substance before it is absorbed into the body.
