A niche is a term describing the position of an organism in an ecology. It may include descriptions of the organism's life history[?], habitat, position in the food web[?]. A niche has been described as 'an N-dimensional space in a multiple-dimensional hypervolume.' According to the principle of mutual exclusivity[?], no two species can occupy the same niche in the same environment.
