Duccio di Buoninsegna (c.1260-c.1319) was probably the most influential Sienese artist of his time. Duccio is considered to have had a major influence on the formation of the International Gothic style. He is considered to have influenced Simone Martini and the brothers Ambrogio[?] and Pietro Lorenzetti[?] among others.
His works include the Rucellai Madonna (1285) for Santa Maria Novella (now in the Uffizi) and the Maestà (1308-11) for Siena's cathedral.
