Dr. Shirley Ann Jackson is the 18th President of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Dr. Jackson holds a Ph.D. in theoretical elementary particle physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) (1973) and a S.B.[?] in physics from M.I.T. (1968). Dr. Jackson was also the Chair of the United States Nuclear Regulatory Committee from 1995 to 1999.
