Dischord Records is a Washington, D.C.-based record label specializing in D.C. area punk and alternative music. The company is owned by Ian MacKaye, who founded the label in 1980. Such bands as Minor Threat, Fugazi, Lungfish[?], and Dag Nasty[?] have released records on Dischord. It is most notable for having maintained a strict do-it-yourself ethic, producing all of its albums by itself, without the help of major distributors.
