Diplurans (order Diplura) are one of the three hexapod groups that are not insects. They are entognathous small animals less than 6 mm in length. Diplurans are eyeless with noticeably long mobile antennae. The three families may be distinguished by the paired cerci at the rear of the body. These are as long as the antennae in the Campodeidae, pincer-like in the Japygidae, and short and stubby in the Anajapygidae.
