Dennis Hastert

John Dennis "Denny" Hastert (born January 2, 1942) is Speaker of the United States House of Representatives. He is a Republican and represents the 14th Illinois Congressional district.

Hastert was elected to the House of Representatives in 1986, and succeeded Newt Gingrich as Speaker in 1999.
