Delerium

Delerium is a band from Vancouver, B.C., Canada formed in 1984 (see 1984 in music) by Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber[?]. Although both musicians have played together in other bands since, Delerium is still their most successful ongoing project. Being mainly studio musicians, the band rarely tours, although in the beginning they did perform in the local Vancouver club scene.

Female vocalists appear on many Leeb-Fulber songs, including Sarah McLachlan in "Silence", in Karma[?] (1997; see 1997 in music). "Silence" sold more than 400,000 singles world-wide. Leigh Nash, Kristy Thirsk, and Lisa Gerrard perform lead vocals on several albums.

Since Faces, Forms and Illusions[?] (1988; see 1988 in music), up to and including Chimera[?] (2003; see 2003 in music), Delerium has released over 20 albums. The genre that describes or categorizes the group's musical style includes terms such as trip pop[?], electronic, Gothic rock, industrial, and New Age[?].
