David Ahenakew

David Ahenakew, born July 28, 1933 at Sandy Lake Indian Reserve[?] in Saskatchewan, Canada, was once the leader of the Assembly of First Nations in Canada. He also served as the leader of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations[?]. He is currently a member of the Order of Canada.

In June of 2003, he was formally charged by the Saskatchewan Justice Department with promoting hatred. The charges stemmed from December 2002 remarks he made in which he praised Adolf Hitler for slaughtering the Jews.
