Dalton is a town located in Chariton County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 27.

Geography Dalton is located at 39°23'50" North, 92°59'28" West (39.397130, -92.991248)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²). 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 27 people, 12 households, and 9 families residing in the town. The population density is 57.9/km² (152.5/mi²). There are 24 housing units at an average density of 51.5/km² (135.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 55.56% White, 44.44% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 11.11% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 12 households out of which 16.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.7% are married couples living together, 33.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.0% are non-families. 25.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.25 and the average family size is 2.56.
