Czestochowa

Częstochowa (population 255,500 (2000)) is a town in southern Poland, in the Slaskie region on the Warta River.

This town is known for the famous Paulite[?] monastery that is the home of the Black Madonna[?] painting, a shrine of the Virgin Mary. Each year, thousands of pilgrims come to Częstochowa to see it.

There are also another two historical sites:

  • A Sorbian culture excavation site and museum
  • ruins of a medieval castle
