Cybill

Cybill was a US remake of Absolutely Fabulous made 1995-1998 with Cybill Shepherd in the lead role. Like Absolutely Fabulous the main character had a disapproving daughter, two quite different ex-husbands, and a best friend whose heavy drinking, sexy image and self-indulgent behavior provides much of the humor. Cybill's character in the show was a somewhat faded television actress.

In comparison to Absolutely Fabulous the content was much toned down, possibly because of self censorship and to fit better in the US sitcom tradition.
