Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 91.1 km² (35.2 mi²). 90.0 km² (34.7 mi²) of it is land and 1.1 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.25% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 988 people, 397 households, and 294 families residing in the township. The population density is 11.0/km² (28.4/mi²). There are 914 housing units at an average density of 10.2/km² (26.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 97.06% White, 0.00% African American, 0.51% Native American, 0.20% Asian, 0.40% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.82% from two or more races. 0.51% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 397 households out of which 29.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.5% are married couples living together, 6.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.7% are non-families. 21.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
