Crawford County is a county located in the U.S. State of Pennsylvania. As of 2000, the population is 90,366. Its county seat is Meadville6.

Geography According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,688 km² (1,038 mi²). 2,623 km² (1,013 mi²) of it is land and 65 km² (25 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.41% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 90,366 people, 34,678 households, and 23,858 families residing in the county. The population density is 34/km² (89/mi²). There are 42,416 housing units at an average density of 16/km² (42/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 97.00% White, 1.59% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.28% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.13% from other races, and 0.77% from two or more races. 0.59% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 34,678 households out of which 30.40% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.60% are married couples living together, 9.20% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.20% are non-families. 26.20% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.60% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.50 and the average family size is 3.01.

In the county, the population is spread out with 24.70% under the age of 18, 9.20% from 18 to 24, 26.60% from 25 to 44, 23.90% from 45 to 64, and 15.60% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 94.80 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 90.80 males.
