Corte

Corte (Corsican Corti) in is a town of approx. 6,000 inhabitants in the Haute-Corse département in central Corsica, in France.

It was the capital of the Corsican independent state during the period of Pascal Paoli[?]. Sites of interest include the Fortress (A citadella), the Museum of Corsica (Museu di a Corsica), and a University. National roads lead to Ajaccio and Bastia.
