Corinne Griffith

Corinne Griffith (November 24, 1894 - July 13, 1979) was an American actress, sometimes known as the "Orchid Lady." Born in Texarkana, Texas, she was one of many popular silent film stars, who did not survive the transition to sound. In 1929, she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for the movie The Divine Lady. She left acting in 1932 except for one return in 1961, in Paradise Alley[?]. Later in life, she wrote the lyrics for the Washington Redskins's cheer.

Griffith has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1560 Vine Street.
