Copy

In telecommunication, the term copy has the following meanings:

1. To receive a message.

2. A recorded message or a duplicate of it.

3. To read data from a source, leaving the source data unchanged at the source, and to write[?] the same data elsewhere, though they may be in a physical form that differs from that of the source.

4. To understand a transmitted message.
