Claudia Roth

Claudia Roth (born on May 15, 1955), German Green Party politician.

Biography

Roth was born in the city of Ulm, Germany, on May 15, 1955. She attended the Simpert-Kraemer-Gymnasium grammar school in Krumbach[?], followed by an education as a dramatic advisor[?]; she worked at a couple of theaters in Dortmund before becoming the manager of the German rock band Ton Steine Scherben.

Political career

• 1985 - 1989: Press spokeswoman for the German Green Party.
• 1985 - 1998: Member of the European Parliament (Chairmanwoman of the Green Party fraction from 1994 to 1998).
• 1998 - March 2001: Member of the Green Party faction in the German Parliament (Bundestag).
  • Chairwoman of the Human Rights Board in the German Parliament
• March 2001 - December 2002: Chairwoman of the German Green Party (together with Fritz Kuhn).
• September 22, 2002 - today: Member of the Green Party faction in the Bundestag again.
