Chunky

The Chunky method of displaying computer graphics is one where a single byte in memory represents a single pixel on the screen. Usually a sequential area of memory therefore acts as an array of pixel values.

With chunky graphics, the values stored in RAM do not directly correspond to a particular colour; rather they are used as an index into a definable palette of colours.
