Christopher Rudolph Zarba, Jr., age 47, from Hopkinton, Massachusetts, lost his life when on September 11, 2001, American Airlines flight 11 crashed into the World Trade Center North Tower just four days shy of his 48th birthday. A 1976 graduate of Tufts University, Mr. Zarba was employed as a software engineer for Concord Communications and was on a business trip to Los Angeles that fateful day. Music was his hobby. He played the piano and French horn and performed with local symphonies. He is survived by his wife, Sheila, who also plays the French horn; and his 3-year-old son, Christopher, with whom he was inseparable. His other hobbies included painting and gardening. He also spoke Italian and German fluently as well.
