The pygmy hippopotamus is half as tall as the hippopotamus and weighs 1/15 as much as a small big hippo. Both are African; the pygmy hippo lives in western Africa (Liberia and nearby, as the species name implies), while its big cousin inhabits the rivers of eastern Africa.
