Charlotte Harbor is a town located in Charlotte County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 3,647.

Geography Charlotte Harbor is located at 26°57'50" North, 82°3'44" West (26.963897, -82.062267)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 5.7 km² (2.2 mi²). 5.6 km² (2.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.80% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 3,647 people, 1,771 households, and 823 families residing in the town. The population density is 645.9/km² (1,671.9/mi²). There are 2,277 housing units at an average density of 403.3/km² (1,043.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 93.67% White, 2.85% African American, 0.19% Native American, 1.29% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 1.26% from other races, and 0.71% from two or more races. 3.21% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 1,771 households out of which 10.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 38.2% are married couples living together, 5.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 53.5% are non-families. 48.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 34.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.76 and the average family size is 2.41.

In the town the population is spread out with 9.4% under the age of 18, 4.1% from 18 to 24, 13.7% from 25 to 44, 16.6% from 45 to 64, and 56.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 70 years. For every 100 females there are 73.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 69.3 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $29,468, and the median income for a family is $39,583. Males have a median income of $26,157 versus $19,097 for females. The per capita income for the town is $22,211. 10.3% of the population and 4.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 22.6% are under the age of 18 and 5.5% are 65 or older.
