CBC Radio One

CBC Radio One is the English language news and inoformation radio station of the publicly owned Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It is commercial free and offers both local and national programming. It is available to ninety-eight percent of Canadians, and is also available overseas through Radio Canada International[?] and also over the internet.

CBC radio began in the 1930s and was the earliest branch of the CBC.

CBC Radio One Weekday Radio schedule

  • 6:30 - 8:00 - local morning radio , varied from city to city
  • 8:00 - 12:00 - two national radio shows
  • 12:00- 2:00 - province wide show
  • 2:00 - 4:00 - richarsons Roundup
  • 4:00 - 6:00 - local afternoon show
  • 6:30 - 6:30 - news
  • 6:30 - 8:00 - As It Happens
  • 8:00 - 9:00 -
  • 9:00 - 10:00- Ideas
Overnight - classical music and international shows.

One weekends Radio One also has a number of other popular shows such as the science show Quirks and Quarks hosted by Bob Macdonald[?], the call in show Cross Country Checkup[?] hosted by Rex Murphy[?], the political show The House[?], the ethics and religion show Tapestry[?], the oldies music show Finkleman's 45s[?] hosted by Danny Finkleman[?], and the news show Sunday Morning[?] hosted by Michael Enright[?].
