Catherine Deneuve

Catherine Deneuve (born October 22, 1943) is a French actress, born in Paris, France.

She made her movie debut as early in 1957, when she was still a teenager. She played several small parts in minor films. Her breakthroughs came with the musical film Les Parapluies de Cherbourg (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg) (Jacques Demy[?], 1964), the late Surrealist masterpiece Belle de Jour (Luis Bu�uel, 1967) and the Franco-English production Repulsion (Roman Polanski, 1964).

She won the Cesar Award for Best Actess in 1981 for her performance in Le Dernier m�tro. She won the Cesar Award for Best Actress a second time for her starring role in the 1992 film, Indochine and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for the same performance.

She is a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador.

In addition to her two wins, she was also nominated for a Cesar Award for her role in:
