Captain Kangaroo

Captain Kangaroo was a children's show which aired weekday mornings on CBS from 1955 until 1984. The main character in the show was Captain Kangaroo, played by Bob Keeshan.

The other main actor living in The Treasure House was Hugh 'Lumpy' Brannum[?], who played Mr. Greenjeans and other, less-frequent characters, like the New Old Folk Singer. Regular puppet characters included Bunny Rabbit (always trying to steal the Captain's carrots) and Mr. Moose (who liked to drop ping-pong balls on people).

Certain cartoons were regular attractions for many years, including 'Tom Terrific' - perhaps best remembered for arch-villain Crabby Appleton. Other regular features included The Magic Drawing Board and visits from Dancing Bear.
