Cape Fear (1991 movie)

Cape Fear is a 1991 film which is a remake of a 1962 film of the same name. It tells the story of a family man, a former public defender, whose family is threatened by a murderous criminal who wants vengeance for having been put in prison several years before because of the lawyer's faulty defense tactics. It stars Robert De Niro, Nick Nolte, Jessica Lange, Juliette Lewis[?], Joe Don Baker[?], Robert Mitchum (one of the stars of the original film), Gregory Peck (another star of the earlier film), Martin Balsam[?] (also from the other film), Illeana Douglas[?] and Fred Thompson[?].

It was adapted by Wesley Strick[?] from the original screenplay by James R. Webb[?], which was an adaptation from the novel The Executioners by John D. MacDonald[?]. It was directed by Martin Scorsese.

It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Robert De Niro) and Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Juliette Lewis).
