Camp Pendleton, California

Camp Pendleton is a US Marine Corps installation located in Southern California. It was created in 1942 to train US Marines for World War II. It is named for General Joseph Henry Pendleton[?], USMC, who long advocated the creation of a West Coast training base for the US Marine Corps.
