The Cairngorm Mountain Railway is 2 km long and the highest railway in the United Kingdom. It is a funicular railway which ascends the slopes of Cairn Gorm[?], the UK's fifth highest mountain in the arctic wilderness of Scotland, near Aviemore in Inverness-shire[?].
