Brighouse is a town in the county of West Yorkshire, England, 4m (6km) east of Halifax, England, in the Pennines, and on the River Calder. The town's name is said to have come from a building on (or close to) the bridge over the Calder. The river provided power for the flour milling industry and the textile mills.
