Brian Hannon

The Right Reverend Brian Hannon (born October 5, 1936) is a retired Anglican clergyman, Bishop of Clogher[?] from 1986 to 2001. He is also the father of the singer and songwriter Neil Hannon, lead member of The Divine Comedy.

He was once known as "Hannon the Cannon"[1] (http://www.catharton.com/rathmines/nhdc.htm).

He ministered in the city of Londonderry from 1969 to 1982, during the time of the Troubles. He then moved to the diocese of Clogher[?], as rector of the Cathedral Parish[?] of Enniskillen in County Fermanagh, and he went on to become Bishop in 1986.

He retired as Bishop of Clogher on October 5, 2001, his sixty-fifth birthday. On November 21, the Church of Ireland House of Bishops[?] met in Dublin, where they elected his successor, the Very Reverend Michael Jackson.
