Brakel

Brakel is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Brakel proper, Elst[?], Everbeek[?], Michelbeke[?], Nederbrakel[?], Opbrakel[?], Parike[?] and Zegelsem[?]. On January 1st, 2000 Brakel had a total population of 13,709 (6,633 males and 7,076 females). The total area is 57.04 km² which gives a population density of 240.34 inhabitants per km².
