Bobcat (equipment)

Bobcat is a line of farm and construction equipment. Since 1995 the brand has been owned by the Ingersoll-Rand Company[?]. The company sells skid loader s, compact excavators[?], compact utility vehicles[?] and other small hydraulic equipment under the Bobcat brand name.

The name originally referred only to skid loaders produced by Melroe Manufacturing Company[?] which had acquired the design from it's inventors. Often bobcat is used as a generic term for a skid loader.
