Bicycle repair

Bicycles throughout the world use simple standardised interchangeable parts. Unlike many modern products, the technology used in bicycles is simple enough for many bicycle users to make simple repairs to their own vehicles. This article describes bicycle repair techniques.

Basic bicycle repair tools:

1. Allen wrenches (2-8mm)
2. A chain tool
3. Screwdrivers (Phillips[?] and flathead[?])
4. Open and/or box wrenches (8, 10, and 15mm)
5. An appropriately sized spoke wrench

Some specific repairs:

• Fixing a flat (AKA a puncture)
• Truing a wheel (adjusting tires so that they don't wobble)
• Adjusting brakes
• Adjusting gears
• Cleaning and repacking a hub[?]
