Biathlon World Championships

World Championships for biathlon were first held in 1958 with only one event. The number of events has grown over the years. In 1984, women first participated.

Venues

In some years, it was necessary to schedule some events at other venues because of the weather. Until 1992, no World Championships were held in Olympic seasons.

Pursuit (12.5 km), Men

Mass start (15 km), Men

Individual (20 km), Men

Relay (4 x 7.5 km), Men

Team, Men

Sprint (7.5 km), Women

Pursuit (10 km), Women

Mass start (12.5 km), Women
